ABSTRACT: After a careful examination of the type material as well as additional material, Dicliptera magnibracteata Collett & Hemsl. was found to be a member of Peristrophe. This conclusion was based on its linear anther-thecae and a placenta with a retinaculum that does not rise elastically from the base of the capsule when dehiscing. Therefore, a new combination Peristrophe magnibracteata (Collett et Hemsl.) Z. P. Hao, Y. F. Deng & N. H. Xia, is proposed.
